Joey Votto (Reds) – (3 HR, 12 H, 7 R, 7 RBI, .480 BA)
Votto is currently one of the hottest hitters to pick up in fantasy drafts, as the slugger holds an 8-game hitting streak heading into Wednesday. The Reds first baseman is having another productive season in his fifth year, with a current batting average of .368, 13 homers and 45 RBIs for the season. Votto will surely cost the big bucks, but it’s worth paying up with his reliability to hit both homers and base hits in each at-bat.
Brandon Belt (Giants) – (3 HR, 10 H, 5 R, 7 RBI, .455 BA)
The young first baseman for the Giants is getting more at-bats this season and putting together a strong series of games lately. Belt holds a 7-game hitting streak and has been able to come through with some home runs and RBIs along the way. Belt will continue to get consistent at-bats now that former first baseman, Pablo Sandoval is playing third base for the team.
Brandon Phillips (Reds) – (3 HR, 14 H, 7 R, 11 RBI, .438 BA)
The Reds also have another star infielder in Phillips, who has also been on a hot streak this past week. Phillips is heading into Wednesday night with a 9-game hitting streak, stringing together home runs and multi-hit games. The Reds recently managed to sweep both the Mets and Indians behind the sensational hitting coming from both Votto and Phillips.
Ike Davis (Mets) – (2 HR, 10 H, 6 R, 10 RBI, .435 BA)
The Mets are getting some strong hitting from Davis lately, as the first baseman holds a 9-game hitting streak. Davis currently has a dreadful batting average of .195 for the season, but is slowly finding his comfort zone at the plate with 2 homers and 10 hits in the past week. Davis is doing well in the batter’s box lately, with 11 RBIs and 13 base-on-balls so far this month.
Casey McGehee (Pirates) – (2 HR, 10 H, 6 R, 7 RBI, .435 BA)
The Pirates are getting a small boost on offense from their first baseman in the past week, with McGehee slapping 12 hits in his last 10 games. McGehee hasn’t been too dangerous with the bat this season, but his past few games indicate he’s ready to bring up his hitting numbers. He’s currently holding a 7-game hitting streak heading into Wednesday, with a batting average of .366 in June.
David Murphy (Rangers) – (2 HR, 10 H, 3 R, 8 RBI, .526 BA)
The Rangers are just loaded with hitters and this week it’s their left fielder, David Murphy, who’s on a hitting streak. Murphy has a batting average of .282, with 7 home runs and 25 RBIs this season. He’s had at least one hit in his last 8 games and appears more comfortable than ever when stepping into the batter’s box.
Honorable Mentions: Andrelton Simmons (Braves), David Ortiz (Red Sox), Carlos Beltran (Cardinals), Ryan Braun (Brewers), Brandon Moss (Athletics), Trevor Plouffe (Twins)
