1. Henrik Lundqvist (Rangers)
(22-10-4), 1.87 GAA., .937 SV%
New York's primitive netminder closed the first half of the season on a strong note. In Lundqvist's last four games, he allowed just five goals and had two shutouts against Nashville and Winnipeg. He holds one of the best saving percentages in the league and has the Rangers ranked second in goals allowed (2.0) per game. The Rangers have somewhat of a rough schedule up ahead though, facing dangerous teams such as the Flyers (twice), Boston and Chicago in the next few weeks.
2. Pekka Rinne (Predators)
(29-11-4), 2.40 GAA., .924 SV%
Rinne closed January by guiding the Predators through a 10-game winning streak, taking part in every single one of those wins. He's only allowed 23 goals out of 352 attempts in the last month, boosting his save percentage with each game. He's certainly not shutout material though, with just three shutouts in the last two months. Look for Rinne to continue doing well in front of the net with this re-energized group in Nashville.
3. Jonathan Quick (Kings)
(21-12-9), 1.93 GAA., .934 SV%
Los Angeles has benefitted from the improved performance coming from Quick in the last month, posting strong efforts against Vancouver, Ottawa and Calgary. In January, Quick carried a sensational saving percentage of .943 heading into the mid-season break. As the Kings continue to hope for a playoff push, Quick should remain sharp behind the net for Los Angeles, as he currently leads the league in total shutouts this year with six.
4. Jimmy Howard (Red Wings)
(31-11-1), 2.01 GAA., .925 SV%
Howard is one of the better goalies in the league that's also blessed with the talent of this year's Red Wings. Detroit has been polarizing all season, with Howard doing his part to seal the victories. He currently leads the league in total wins and posted a stunning save percentage of .966 last month. Howard should be able to continue his dominance in the following weeks, with the Wings prepping for the post season behind his consistency.
5. Brian Elliott (Blues)
(15-5-2), 1.69 GAA., .938 SV%
Elliot burst into the scene for St. Louis back in early October last year, since then he's done it all to earn an invite to last weekend's All Star game. Elliot did lost four out if his last five going into the break, but those losses came against offensive heavyweights such as Detroit twice, Vancouver and Pittsburgh. The 26-year-old goalie for the Blues has been outstanding when it comes to keeping his team in the game and rarely allows two goals a game since grabbing some more ice time.
Notables:
Marc-Andre Fleury (Penguins), Tim Thoma/Tuuka Rask (Bruins), Antti Niemi (Sharks), Jaroslav Halak (Blues)
